<br />SWC:sh 5/29/87 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10514 <br /> <br />(#19) <br />JUN IJ981 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY RELATING TO THE <br />UTILIZATION OF DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES AND <br />WOMEN BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN FEDERALLY FUNDED <br />PROJECTS; AND SETTING PARTICIPATION GOALS FOR FISCAL <br />YEAR 1987-88 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a condition to receiving certain federal funds, <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City must adopt a policy regarding the hiring <br /> <br />of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) and Women Business <br /> <br />Enterprises (WBE), and must adopt goals for each fiscal year with <br /> <br />regard to contracting with DBE's and WBE's~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Council a policy <br /> <br />by which the City will commit to substantially increasing its <br /> <br />utilization of DBE' sand WBE' s in programs or proj ects funded <br /> <br />wholly or in part by federal funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has also been presented to this Council a <br /> <br />goal for participation by DBE' sand WBE' s in the Fiscal Year <br /> <br />1987-88; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve and <br /> <br />adopt the DBE/WBE policy and the participation goals; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby adopts that certain policy entitled <br /> <br />"Minori ty and Women Owned Business Enterprise Program - City of <br /> <br />Redwood City" (form date 4/14/87), a copy of which policy is on <br /> <br />file in the office of the City Clerk, and to which copy reference <br /> <br />is hereby made for full particulars thereof. <br /> <br />10514 <br />
