<br />SWC:sh 4/3/87 (#19) <br />APR 6 1987 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />No.I0468 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING APRIL, 1987 AS FAIR HOUSING <br />MONTH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the National Fair Housing Law of 1968 prohibits <br /> <br />discrimination in housing and declares it a national policy to <br /> <br />provide, with constitutional limits, fair housing in the United <br /> <br />States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the principal of Fair Housing is not only a <br /> <br />national law and national policy but a fundamental human concept <br /> <br />and entitlement for all Americans; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, April has traditionally been designated as Fair <br /> <br />Housing Month in the United States; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby designate April, 1987 as Fair <br /> <br />Housing Month in the City of Redwood City and does hereby urge <br /> <br />all the citizens of this City to practice the letter and spirit <br /> <br />of the Fair Housing Law. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />10468 <br />
