<br />DES:djc 4/4/86 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10177 <br /> <br />APR <br /> <br />7 1983 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC <br />INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE OF <br />PUBLIC MONEY TO SAFEGUARD LIFE, HEALTH AND PROPERTY, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE PERFORMANCE OF PUBLIC WORK WITHOUT <br />SOLICITING OR ADVERTISING FOR BIDS THEREFOR IN CONNECTION <br />WITH WATER TRANSMISSION LINE FAILURE ON FARM HILL BOULEVARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on or about March 27, 1986 a water transmission <br /> <br />line located on Farm Hill Boulevard in the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />ruptured without waring; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a result of said rupture it was necessary to <br /> <br />perform emergency work in order to assure a continuing supply of <br /> <br />potable water for the residents of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a further result of said rupture it has been, <br /> <br />and will be, necessary to expend the public monies to provide a <br /> <br />continuing supply potable water, and to repair, replace and <br /> <br />maintain said water transmission line, the public right-of-way, <br /> <br />and appurtenances thereto; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the occurrence above described was a such nature <br /> <br />that there has been, and will be, insufficient time available to <br /> <br />continue to provide said water supply and carry out the necessary <br /> <br />repairs, <br /> <br />replacement <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />maintenance <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />accordance <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />solicitation or advertising requirements for bids for the <br /> <br />performance of said work; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />10177 <br />
