6/22/98 <br /> <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13371 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR CERTAIN SERVICES RELATING TO <br />SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 3, 1998 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City and <br />Resolution No. 13370 adopted June 22, 1998 a Special Municipal Election of the City of <br />Redwood City shall be held in said City on the same day as the next statewide general <br />election, to wit: the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of this year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Special Mtmicipal Election of the City of Redwood City shall be <br />held November 3, 1998 and shall be consolidated with the Statewide general election to <br />be held on that date; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo provides certain services pertaining to the <br />conduct of elections, including but not limited to, selection of polling places and precinct <br />officials, mailing of absentee ballots and canvassing of votes, as set forth more fully in <br />the Agreement hereinafter referenced; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS; <br /> <br /> That certain Agreement by and between the City of Redwood City, a municipal <br />corporation of the State ot California, and the County of San Mateo entitled "Service <br />Agreement for the City of Red,rood City - Special Municipal Election Consolidated with <br />Statewide General Election': for the performance by the County Clerk of the County of <br />San Mateo of certain services pertaining to the Special Municipal Election to be held on <br />November 3, 1998, a copy of which agreement shall be on file in the Office of the City <br />Clerk, to which reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is hereby <br />approved, subject to the negotiation and approval by the City Manager and the approval <br />as to form by the City Attorney, and the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby <br />authorized and directed to execute and to attest thereto, respectlveiy, said agreement for <br />and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br /> <br />
