r~S:djg-c 1/4/85 ---------- RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 9767 ORIGINAL JAN 7 1981" RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RETENTION OF SPECIAL COUNSEL IN CONNECTION WITH PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY (GID 1-64 WATER RESERVOIR) WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of certain real property to be used for water tank reservoir purposes to serve certain areas wi thin Redwood City General Improvement District No. 1-64 ("GID 1-64"); and WHEREAS, in connection with the acquisition of said property this Council desires to retain the services of special counsel in the event it is necessary to acquire said property through eminent domain proceedings; and WHEREAS, Washburn and Kemp, Attorneys, represent that they are qualified to serve as such special counsel; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: Washburn and Kemp, Attorneys, of San Francisco, California, are hereby retained to serve as special counsel, in cooperation with the City Attorney, to provide all necessary legal services including, but not limited to, the institution and prosecution of an eminent domain action, to acquire real property to be used for public purposes, to wit: a water tank reservoir site to serve GID 1-64; and said retention of services is hereby approved upon the terms and conditions set forth in that certain letter from said law firm dated December 19, 1984 to the City Attorney, a copy of which letter is on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof. * * * 9767
