<br />DCB:sh 10/18/84 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9735 <br /> <br />NOV 2 6 1984 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING BUILDING AT 35 HAZEL STREET AS A <br />PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL <br />THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has <br /> <br />determined that the building which is located at 35 Hazel Street <br /> <br />is a public nuisance as defined by Sections 9.5 of the Redwood <br /> <br />City Code because the building has become manifestly unsafe for <br /> <br />the purpose for which it was being used; the building exists and <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />maintained <br /> <br />in violation of <br /> <br />specific <br /> <br />requirements <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />prohibitions applicable to such building regulations of the City; <br /> <br />the building is used for or intended to be used for dwelling <br /> <br />purposes, because of inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, decay, <br /> <br />damage, faulty construction, inadequate light, air, or sanitation <br /> <br />facili ties or otherwise, has been determined to be unfit for <br /> <br />human habitation and/or is unsanitary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department has given notice to <br /> <br />the owner of the building at 35 Hazel Street, as evidenced by <br /> <br />Exhibit A, to appear before this City council to show cause, if <br /> <br />any, why such building should not be declared to be a public <br /> <br />nuisance and abated in accordance with the provisions of Chapter <br /> <br />9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence <br /> <br />that the building at 35 Hazel Street has become dilapidated and <br /> <br />has numerous fire code, housing code, and health and safety code <br /> <br />violations; <br /> <br />9735 <br />
