<br />CGM:lw 1/13/84 <br /> <br />On\G"I" r\, <br />i\ ~\I\n... <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9506 <br /> <br />JAN 1 6 1984 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING APPROVAL OF AMENDED APPLICATION TO <br />CONSTRUCT CHESAPEAKE DRIVE AT GRADE ACROSS THE RAILROAD <br />TRACKS OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY IN THE <br />VICINITY OF SEAPORT BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Southern Pacific Railroad Company has railroad <br /> <br />tracks in the vicinity of Seaport Boulevard in the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to construct a <br /> <br />street, Chesapeake Drive, at grade across the railroad tracks of <br /> <br />Southern Pacific Railroad Company in the aforementioned area of <br /> <br />the City, which is shown on Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Code requires that all proposed <br /> <br />public roads, highways, and streets to be constructed across the <br /> <br />track of any railroad corporation at grade receive the prior <br /> <br />approval of the Public Utilities Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this City, pursuant to Resolution No. 9253, adopted <br /> <br />October 25, 1982, approved an application for such construction on <br /> <br />Chesapeake Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Utility Commission has adopted Decision No. <br /> <br />83-05-069 since such approval which would permit the City to <br /> <br />construct said crossing pursuant to the Crossing Protection <br /> <br />criteria identified in said decision; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to <br /> <br />authorize an application requesting approval of a modification to <br /> <br />the above grade crossing be submitted to the Public Utilities <br /> <br />9506 <br />
