DES:d~'~ 06/10/97 (143/39) <br /> <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 7/14/97 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13129 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING SAN MATEO COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL <br /> DISTRICT TO IMPOSE CHARGES FOR FUNDING COUNTY-WIDE <br /> STORM WATER NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION <br /> SYSTEM ("NPDES") GENERAL PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY FOR FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1997 - JUNE 30, 1998 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency, pursuant to <br />1987 Federal Clean Water Act (33 USC §1251 et seq.) amendments <br />enacted regulations implementing the storm water National <br />Pollutant Discharge Elimination System ("NPDES") mandating local <br />governments to control and reduce the amount of storm water <br />pollutant runoff into receiving waters; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Porter-Cologne Water <br />Quality Act (Water Code §13,000 et seq.), the State Water <br />Resources Control Board has delegated its NPDES permitting <br />authority to Regional Water Quality Control Boards throughout the <br />State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality <br />Control Board has approved the storm water NPDES General Program <br />for the County of San Mateo and the incorporated cities within <br />said County and, thereupon, has issued San Mateo County-wide <br />NPDES Storm Water Permit (CA 0029921); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Flood Control District, <br />established pursuant to Chapter 2108, Stats. 1959, as amended <br />(Water Code App. §87-1 et seq.), for and on behalf of the County <br />of San Mateo and incorporated cities within said County, is <br />empowered to impose charges to fund storm water drainage programs <br />in conformance with the aforesaid NPDES permit; and <br /> <br /> <br />
