<br />SWC'~jg-c 11/17/82 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />NOV 2 2 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9273 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE POLICE SERVICES STUDY <br />CONDUCTED BY THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COUNCIL OF <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Council of San Mateo County <br /> <br />has conducted a study on the delivery of police services in <br /> <br />the county; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the study concludes that municipal law enforce- <br /> <br />ment agencies could provide police services to unincorporated <br /> <br />areas of the bay side of the county with potential for: I) <br /> <br />savings in overall costs, 2) increases in levels of services, <br /> <br />3) service trade-offs and/or financial service contracts between <br /> <br />the cities and the county; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Council of San Mateo County <br /> <br />has recommended that local governing bodies should further <br /> <br />explore the feasibility of having municipal law enforcement <br /> <br />agencies provide police services to the unincorporated areas <br /> <br />on the county's bay side; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is a continuing need to explore cost <br /> <br />savlng measures ln the effective delivery of police services <br /> <br />to the citizens of the City of Redwood City; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1.
