BOLD ON THE OCCASION OF <br />HIS RETIREMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chief of Police George W. Bold, having well and <br /> <br />ably served the City of Redwood City for over thirty-two years, <br /> <br />is retiring on July 1, 1982; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chief Bold began his career with the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City in 1949 as a Police Officer, and steadily moved up through <br /> <br />the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain before being <br /> <br />appointed Chief of Police in 1973; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, along with his official duties at the Police <br /> <br />Department, Chief Bold has participated actively in professional <br /> <br />organizations, at the local, national and international level, <br /> <br />serving as past president of the San Mateo County Police Chiefs <br /> <br />Association and Bay Counties Police Officers Association; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chief Bold, the father of three children, has <br /> <br />demonstrated his support for the youth of our community, <br /> <br />having served the Redwood City Police Youth Club in various <br /> <br />capacities, almost since its inception in 1958; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby commend Chief George W. Bold on <br /> <br />his public service to the City of Redwood City, does congratulate <br /> <br />him on his retirement, and does extend to him its very best wishes <br /> <br />for many happy rewarding years following his retirement. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />91.s~2. <br />
