<br />SWC:ky <br /> <br />2/19/82 <br /> <br />9058 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />FEa 22 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR THREE REPLACE- <br />~ffiNT POLICE PATROL VEHICLES: AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO <br />CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR: AND AUTHORIZING SOLICITATION OF <br />PROPOSALS FOR FINANCING THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been presented to this Council certain <br /> <br />specifications for the furnishing of three replacement police <br /> <br />patrol vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to signify its approval thereof <br /> <br />and authorize the City Clerk to call for bids for the furnishing <br /> <br />of such equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has determined that financing <br /> <br />said equipment from financial institutions for a lease with option <br /> <br />to purchase may be more cost advantageous than direct purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Council to authorize the <br /> <br />Director of Finance to solicit proposals for the financing of the <br /> <br />aforementioned police patrol vehicles; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE i <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Those certain specifications prepared in the Office of the <br /> <br />Director of Finance and on file in the Office of the City Clerk, <br /> <br />entitled "City of Redwood City - Specifications for Three Police <br /> <br />Patrol Vehicles - February 22, 1982," are hereby approved. <br /> <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to call <br /> <br />for bids for the furnishing of three replacement police patrol vehi- <br /> <br />cles as called for in the aforementioned specifications. <br /> <br />3. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to solicit <br /> <br />proposals for the tax-exempt lease-purchase financing of said equipment. <br /> <br />9058 <br />
