SWC:djg-c 12/15/81 RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 9 027 DEe 2 1 1981 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF A SURCHARGE TO BE ADDED TO BAILS FOR PAP~ING VIOLATIONS IMPOSED PURSUANT TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE VEHICLE CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, to assist in the establishment of adequate criminal justice facilities, Chapter 1171 of the Statutes of 1981 (the "Act") provides for the creation of a Criminal Justice Facility Temporary Construction Fund and the imposition of certain sur- charges upon, among others, bails for parking violations, to be deposited into such fundi and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo did, on December I, 1981, adopt Resolution No. 42857, thereby implementing the provisions of the Act within the County of San Mateo, and establishing a fee of One Dollar and Fifty cents ($1.50), payable to the Fund, for each parking violation imposed pursuant to state and local legislation; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: I. There is hereby imposed a surcharge in the amount of One Dollar and Fifty cents ($1.50) which amount shall be added to the bail amounts imposed for parking violations pursuant to the Uniform Fire Code, adopted pursuant to Section 12.7 of the Code of the City of Redwood City; Chapter 20 of the Code of the City Gf Redwood CitYi and the Vehicle Code of the State of California. 2. This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption; provided, however, that the surcharge established pursuant to paragraph 1 hereof shall be imposed upon those violations incurred on or after January 1, 1982. * * * 9 02?
