<br />DES:mf 12/10/81 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9024 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />DEe 14 1981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY PROPOSING CERTAIN <br />AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br />ORDERING SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF APRIL 13, <br />1982 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Redwood City does hereby propose, <br /> <br />on its motion, that those certain amendments hereinafter set forth <br /> <br />be made to the Charter of the City of Redwood City, and does hereby <br /> <br />order that such proposed Charter amendments be submitted to the <br /> <br />electors of the city of Redwood City at the General Municipal Election <br /> <br />to be held on Tuesday, April 13, 1982. <br /> <br />All electors of the City of Redwood City qualified to vote at <br /> <br />the General Municipal Election in the City of Redwood City on April <br /> <br />13, 1982, shall be qualified to vote on the proposed Charter amendments <br /> <br />submitted at said election. <br /> <br />The polls shall be opened at seven o'clock a.m. on said day <br /> <br />of election and shall be kept open continuously thereafter until <br /> <br />eight o'clock p.m. of said day, when the polls shall be closed (except <br /> <br />as provided in ~14301 of the Elections Code), and the election officers <br /> <br />shall thereupon proceed to canvass the ballots cast thereat. <br /> <br />Where a voting system is used at said General Municipal Election <br /> <br />the provisions of Chapter 3, Division 11, of the Elections Code shall <br /> <br />govern such usage, and the ballot card or other device shall be prepared <br /> <br />(I) so that any qualified elector may vote for any Charter amendment <br /> <br />proposition by punching or otherwise specifying an affirmative vote in <br /> <br />a space provided therefor; and (2) so that any qualified elector may <br /> <br />vote against any such Charter amendment proposition by punching or <br /> <br />otherwise specifying a negative vote in a space provided therefor. <br /> <br />Where voting machines are used at said General Municipal <br /> <br />Election, said voting machines shall be arranged (I) so that any <br /> <br />9024 <br />
