DES:mf 12/10/81 RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 9024 ORIGINAL DEe 14 1981 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY PROPOSING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ORDERING SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF APRIL 13, 1982 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Council of Redwood City does hereby propose, on its motion, that those certain amendments hereinafter set forth be made to the Charter of the City of Redwood City, and does hereby order that such proposed Charter amendments be submitted to the electors of the city of Redwood City at the General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, April 13, 1982. All electors of the City of Redwood City qualified to vote at the General Municipal Election in the City of Redwood City on April 13, 1982, shall be qualified to vote on the proposed Charter amendments submitted at said election. The polls shall be opened at seven o'clock a.m. on said day of election and shall be kept open continuously thereafter until eight o'clock p.m. of said day, when the polls shall be closed (except as provided in ~14301 of the Elections Code), and the election officers shall thereupon proceed to canvass the ballots cast thereat. Where a voting system is used at said General Municipal Election the provisions of Chapter 3, Division 11, of the Elections Code shall govern such usage, and the ballot card or other device shall be prepared (I) so that any qualified elector may vote for any Charter amendment proposition by punching or otherwise specifying an affirmative vote in a space provided therefor; and (2) so that any qualified elector may vote against any such Charter amendment proposition by punching or otherwise specifying a negative vote in a space provided therefor.
