0 R I G I N A L 1/6 /97 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 12983 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REGARDING DESIGNATION OF LEAD AGENCY <br /> FOR THE PREPARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> DOCUMENTATION FOR THE PROJECT KNOWN AS ORACLE <br /> EXPANSION AT ISLAND PARK, BELMONT, CALIFOLRNIA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 15050 of the California Environmental Quality Act <br />Guidelines (14 CCR §15000, et seq.; the "CEQA Guidelines") requires that, when <br />a project requiring environmental documentation is to be carried out or approved <br />by more than one public agency, one public agency shall be responsible for <br />preparing the environmental documentation for the project (the "Lead Agency"); <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Oracle Corporation has submitted plans for development of <br />approximately 410,000 square feet of office space, of which approximately <br />80,000 is in the City of Redwood City, with a pedestrian bridge extending across <br />the slough from Belmont into Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Belmont and the City of Redwood City are the <br />public agencies involved in the preparation and adoption of the necessary <br />entitlements for approval of the project for which environmental documentation <br />shall be prepared; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the standards set forth in Section 15051 of the <br />CEQA Guidelines, the cities of Redwood City and Belmont each have substantial <br />claims to be Lead Agency for portions of the project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 15051 of the CEQA Guidelines provides that where <br /> <br />two or more public agencies have substantial claim to be the Lead Agency, the <br />Rsso-117 <br />G~hared~'edwood~council <br />DES:dJk <br /> <br /> <br />
