ORIGINAL <br />AGREEMENT <br />FOR DESIGNING, CONSTRUCTING AND MAINTAINING IMPROVEMENTS OF THE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD STREET ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (NSEP) LOCATED WITHIN <br />UNINCORPORATED SAN MATEO COUNTY <br />��! t <br />THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this day of , <br />2019, by and between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision of the State of <br />California ("County"), and the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal <br />corporation of the State of California ("City"). <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, Stanford University has given the City of Redwood City $1.5 million <br />dollars towards a Neighborhood Street Enhancement Program for the three neighborhoods <br />surrounding the Stanford in Redwood City Campus: North Fair Oaks, Redwood Village and <br />Friendly Acres; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds are to be allocated evenly to the three neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds were stipulated for use on neighborhood signage, trees, <br />bulbouts, landscaping elements, bicycle facilities, traffic circles, traffic calming or other features <br />that create an attractive neighborhood and discourage cut -through traffic; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Fair Oaks Community neighborhood lies within unincorporated <br />San Mateo County and the Friendly Acres and Redwood Village neighborhoods both share <br />boundaries with unincorporated San Mateo County; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Fair Oaks Council, North Fair Oaks community members, and <br />other constituents have played a role in developing the Neighborhood Street Enhancement <br />Program Implementation Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, on January 22, 2018, the City approved the Neighborhood Street <br />REV: 05-15-19 DZ <br />Page 1 of 8 <br />ATTY/AGR.2019.126/San Mateo County <br />
