0 R I G I N A L 8/12/96 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 12841 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING RECORD RETENTION SCHEDULE <br />AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO DESTROY CERTAIN <br />PUBLIC RECORDS IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 34090, the head of a <br />city department, with approval of the City Council by resolution and upon written <br />consent of the City Attorney, may destroy any city record under such department <br />head's charge, after the record is no longer required; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has presented to the City Attorney and to this <br />Council for approval, a proposed schedule for retention and destruction of <br />certain categories of public records, and has requested approval to destroy <br />certain public records in accordance therewith; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney has reviewed the proposed record retention <br />schedule and has consented in writing to said request; <br />NOW THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain retention and destruction schedule entitled, "Redwood City <br />Records Management Program - City Clerk Department - January 1995 ", a copy <br />of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and is incorporated herein by <br />reference, is hereby approved, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and <br />directed to destroy certain public records in accordance therewith. <br />r r <br />Reso -060 <br />G:/shared/Redwood/Council <br />08/01/96 <br />DES:djk <br />
