07/11/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15129 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON <br /> HELLER STREET AT THE INTERSECTION WITH PINE STREET <br /> WHEREAS, Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code allows local <br /> authorities to designate any intersection under their exclusive jurisdiction as a <br /> stop control intersection; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2B.04 Subsection 04, of the Manual of Uniform Traffic <br /> Control Devices, states the use of Yield or Stop signs should be considered at <br /> intersections of two minor streets or local roads where the intersection has more than <br /> three approaches and the ability to see conflicting traffic on an approach is not sufficient <br /> to allow a road user to stop or yield in compliance with the normal right -of -way rule if <br /> such stopping or yielding is necessary; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staffs investigation has confirmed the existence of this <br /> condition at the intersection of Heller Street and Pine Street, and that traffic operations <br /> will benefit from the installation of stop signs on Heller Street at the intersection with <br /> Pine Street. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 20.34 of the Redwood City Code, <br /> the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to cause stop signs to be installed <br /> and maintained on Heller Street at the intersection with Pine Street. <br /> ATTY /RESO.2143 /INSTALL.
