03/19/2012 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15173 <br /> RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY'S <br /> CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO REVISE THE JOB SPECIFICATION FOR <br /> FIRE MARSHAL, RECLASSIFY THE POSITION OF FIRE PREVENTION <br /> OFFICER, AND TO ESTABLISH THE NEW CLASSIFICATION OF <br /> DEPUTY FIRE MARSHAL <br /> WHEREAS, the needs of the Fire Prevention Bureau has evolved and an <br /> evaluation of the Bureau's delivery of services has been completed; and <br /> WHEREAS, based on the analysis, it was determined that it would be <br /> appropriate to revise the job specification of Fire Marshal, reclassify the position of Fire <br /> Prevention Officer, and to establish the classification of Deputy Fire Marshal to reflect <br /> the current duties of the incumbents and needs of the organization; and <br /> WHEREAS, the revised classification of Fire Prevention Officer was prepared by <br /> Human Resources to ensure it meets the foreseeable needs of the organization; and <br /> WHEREAS, the revised classification of Fire Marshal was prepared by Human <br /> Resources to ensure it meets the foreseeable needs to the organization; and <br /> WHEREAS, the new classification of Fire Marshal was prepared by Human <br /> Resources to ensure it meets the foreseeable needs of the organization. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. Amend tfie City's Classification Plan to revise the classification of Fire <br /> Marshal which is attached hereto as Attachment 2. <br /> 2. Amend the City's Classification Plan to reclassify the Fire Prevention <br /> O�cer which is attached hereto as Attachment 4. <br /> 3.
