12/09/2013 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15309 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY DESIGNATING 842 EDGEWOOD ROAD A <br /> HISTORIC LANDMARK AND APPROVING A HISTORIC <br /> PRESERVATION AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, on October 10, 2013 the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee considered and recommended that the residence and property <br /> located at 842 Edgewood Road, Redwood City, California be designated a <br /> Historic Landmark and that a Historic Property Preservation Agreement (also <br /> known as a Mills Act Contract) be approved with Alyn Beals and Daniela <br /> Gasparini (collectively, Applicant); and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 3, 2013 the Planning Commission considered <br /> and recommended that the residence and property located at 842 Edgewood <br /> Road, Redwood City, California be designated a Historic Landmark and that a <br /> Historic Property Preservation Agreement (also known as a Mills Act Contract) <br /> be approved with the Applicant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee and Planning <br /> Commission have determined that said property meets the criteria for <br /> designation as an historic landmark according to the historic designation criteria <br /> established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of <br /> the Redwood City Code); and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 9, 2013 the City Council held a duly noticed <br /> public hearing and considered public comments, the application and report from <br /> the applicant and owner of the subject property, the recommendations of the <br /> Historic Resources Advisory Committee and Planning Commission, and staff <br /> reports; and <br /> WHEREAS, the residence and property located at 842 Edgewood Road, <br /> Redwood City, California does meet the historic designation criteria established <br /> by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance as follows: <br /> A. It exemplifies and reflects special elements of the City's cultural, <br /> aesthetic and architectural history; and <br /> B. The property is identified with persons and events significant in local, <br /> State and national history. <br /> WHEREAS, said property and applicant do qualify for a Historic <br /> Preservation Agreement; and <br /> ATTY/RES0.2927/CITY 842 EDGEWOOD LANDMARK DESIGNATION&MILLS ACT CONTRACT RESO.#15309 <br /> REV:12-02-13 VR MUFF#612 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
