01/27/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15318 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON REDWOOD <br /> AVENUE AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH GORDON STREET <br /> WHEREAS, The California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) <br /> has been adopted by the California Department of Transportation and by the City of <br /> Redwood City to provide uniform standards for all traffic control devices; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2B.07, of the California MUTCD, indicates that the criteria <br /> for a multi-way stop sign, is "Five or more reported crashes in a 12-month period that are <br /> susceptible to correction by a multi-way stop installation. Such crashes include right-turn <br /> and left turns collisions as well as right angle collisions". <br /> WHEREAS, City staff's investigation has confirmed the existence of this <br /> condition at the subject site and therefore that a multi-way stop sign is warranted; and <br /> WHEREAS, as the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the <br /> installation of stop signs on Redwood Avenue at Gordon Street meets the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in Section 15301, <br /> ("Existing Facilities"). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
