06/23/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15350 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CONTROLLER TO <br /> LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS FOR FY 2014-2015 FOR THE <br /> SEAPORT BOULEVARD LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT AND <br /> AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH <br /> ASSESSMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, on July 12, 2010, voters of the Seaport Boulevard Landscape <br /> Maintenance District (the "District") approved, by a vote of 63% yes to 37% no, the levy <br /> of a special tax, the amounts of such tax to be annually adjusted under the 5-year <br /> budget as specified in the City Manager's and City Engineer's Reports, heretofore <br /> approved by Resolution No. 15024 adopted May 24, 2010 on each non-exempt parcel <br /> of land in the district; and <br /> WHEREAS, the maximum benefit assessment for fiscal year 2014-2015 is <br /> $212,500.00; and <br /> WHEREAS, the District has the need of the services of the offices of the San <br /> Mateo County Controller and Tax Collector in levying and collecting the special tax. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The above recitals are all true and correct. <br /> 2. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby respectfully requests <br /> and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Controller to include individual tax <br /> assessments in the County tax bills for the fiscal year 2014-2015 in accordance with <br /> the documents supplied by the District and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax <br /> Collector to collect the taxes at the same time and in the same manner as the <br /> general County taxes are collected. <br /> 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution <br /> and enter it into the book of original resolutions. <br /> 4.
