09/11/2017 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15618 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY DESIGNATING THE EVENT ROUTE AND APPROVING THE <br />TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURE FOR THE REDWOOD CITY POLICE <br />CADET'S "RUN WITH THE COPS" EVENT <br />WHEREAS, because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br />traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br />thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br />order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are permitted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes the City to <br />temporarily close a portion of any street for a local special event when the local authority <br />determines the closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to <br />use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and <br />WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br />hereby establish the following route and necessary Partial Street closure for the Redwood <br />City Police Cadet's "Run with the Cops" event. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. "The Run with Cops" event route is hereby established as shown by the <br />map attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />2. On Saturday, October 14, 2017, Seaport Boulevard between Chesapeake <br />Drive and the easterly end of Seaport Boulevard will be partially closed to vehicular traffic <br />from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in order to allow the Redwood City Police Cadet's "Run with <br />the Cops" event to occur. <br />ATfY/RESO.0082/CC RESO APPROVING TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURE—RUN WITH THE COPS EVENT RESO.
