09/25/2017 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15622 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND <br />NEGOTIATION TIMELINES IN THE AMENDED AND RESTATED <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br />SAN CARLOS FOR FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, on July 7, 2011, the City of Redwood City ("Redwood City") <br />entered into that certain Agreement between the Cities of Redwood City and San <br />Carlos ("San Carlos") for Fire & Emergency Services ("Original Agreement"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Original Agreement was modified on October 19, 2011 and on <br />August 13, 2012 as the cities continued to develop their working relationship; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities thereafter entered in an Amended and Restated <br />Agreement for Fire and Emergency Services (the "Agreement') which became effective <br />on July 1, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, the Agreement is set to expire on June 30 2018, if the parties do not reach <br />agreement on terms fora new agreement by June 30, 2017, and staff of both Redwood City and <br />San Carlos have begun discussing the potential extension of services but have not reached <br />agreement on terms; and <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City and San Carlos desire to continue negotiations on <br />an extension agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Managers of both Redwood City and San Carlos are <br />requesting authority to extend the negotiation timelines set forth in the Agreement so <br />that negotiations may continue in a cooperative manner towards an extension <br />agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City Council of the City of Redwood City authorizes the City Manager to <br />extend negotiation timelines in the Amended and Restated Agreement between the <br />Cities of Redwood City and San Carlos for Fire and Emergency Services. <br />ATTY/RESO.0088/CC RESO AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND NEGOTIATION TIMELINES - SAN CARLOS FIRE <br />RESO.
