01/28/2019 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15736 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />ESTABLISHING 2019 SOLID WASTE COLLECTION RATES <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an agreement with the South Bayside Waste Management <br />Authority (SBWMA), a rate analysis has been conducted regarding solid waste collection rates in <br />the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of SBWMA, of which this City is a member agency, <br />revisions to the rates of charge for said purposes have been proposed; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 14.31 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of Redwood City, schedules of charges for such purposes shall be established by resolution of <br />this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council's action is not a project pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section <br />15378(b) (4) because the City is setting maximum rates for solid waste collection to be charged <br />to fund on-going solid waste collection services by Recology San Mateo County, and as such, the <br />action involves a funding mechanism or fiscal activity within the meaning of the CEQA Guidelines; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, notices were sent pursuant to Government Code Section 53755, a hearing <br />was held in accordance with the requirements of Article XIII D, Section 6 of the California <br />Constitution (Proposition 218), no majority protest exists, and the proposed rate increase <br />complies with the limitations for use in Article XIII D, Section 6(b). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The schedule of charges for solid waste collection services in the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby established as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein. <br />2.
