05/06/2019 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15762 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW AN EXCESS <br />INSURANCE POLICY WITH THE CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION <br />OF COUNTIES EXCESS INSURANCE AUTHORITY FOR JULY 1, 2019 <br />THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020 AND APPROVING PAYMENT OF THE <br />EXCESS INSURANCE PREMIUM <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is self-insured for workers' compensation; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City purchases, on an annual basis, excess <br />insurance coverage through the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Excess <br />Insurance Authority for workers' compensation claims whose costs exceed $350,000; and <br />WHEREAS, the upcoming excess insurance policy with CSAC Excess Insurance <br />Authority is for July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City's estimated excess insurance premium for <br />July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020 is $564,000; and <br />WHEREAS, funding for this premium is included in the FY 2019-20 Recommended <br />Budget in the Workers' Compensation Self -Insurance Fund. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.
