0RIGIF1AL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 13833 <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING PASSAGE OF PROPOSITION 13, SAFE <br />DRINKING WATER, CLEAN WATER, WATERSHED PROTECTION <br />AND FLOOD PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2000 <br />2/14/00 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City recognizes the need to provide a <br />safer drinking supply to all Californians; increase the reliability of our water supply; provide flood <br />protection by building necessary flood control projects; improve the quality of our rivers, <br />streams, and coastal water; and protect and restore fisheries and wildlife habitat along rivers <br />and streams; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City recognizes the need to provide a <br />safer drinking supply to all Californians; increase the reliability of our water supply; provide flood <br />protection by building necessary flood control projects; improve the quality of our rivers, <br />streams, and coastal water; and protect and restore fisheries and wildlife habitat along rivers <br />and streams; and, <br />WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1584, Chapter 725, Statutes of 1999 is Proposition 13 on the <br />March 2000 ballot to authorize up to $1.9 billion in State General Obligation Bonds for safe <br />drinking water supply and flood protection; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby endorses and supports the passage of <br />Proposition 13, and encourages California voters to approve these bond acts on March 7, 2000. <br />Reso -822 1 <br />
