11/13/00 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14088 <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND SUPPORTING "CITY <br />TREES" ORGANIZATION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has a long standing and paramount <br />interest in the health and beauty of its urban forest; and <br />WHEREAS, City Trees, a nonprofit organization, was founded to improve <br />the quality of life in the City of Redwood City through a coordinated program of <br />education, outreach, and advocacy for tree planting, maintenance, and funding <br />support; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City believes in the preservation of trees <br />and maintains a tree preservation ordinance to ensure a legacy of mature trees <br />for the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the entire City benefits from a healthy environment and the <br />civic pride demonstrated when any property owner, resident, or volunteer gains <br />awareness about trees, and improves private property and public areas by <br />planting trees and landscapes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.
