3/12/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14164 <br />RESOLUTION WAIVING PUBLIC BIDDING SOLICITATION AND <br />ADVERTISEMENT; ACCEPTING BID FOR THE PURCHASE AND <br />INSTALLATION OF THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AT THE POLICE <br />FACILITY; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE <br />DOCUMENTS THEREOF <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 68 of the Charter of the City of Redwood <br />City, the City Council may waive the bidding requirements and enter into a <br />contract for the replacement of the existing Fire Alarm System at the Police <br />Facility without public soliciting or advertising for bids or receiving same; and <br />WHEREAS, written bids without public advertisement were solicited for <br />the replacement of the existing Fire Alarm System at the Police Facility in the <br />City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said solicitation three bids were received; and <br />WHEREAS, Edwards Systems Technology, Inc. ( "EST "), was the lowest <br />responsible bidder and it is the intention and desire of this Council to accept the <br />bid of EST; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. This Council determines and declares that the public interest or <br />necessity demands the immediate expenditure of public money to safeguard life, <br />health and property. <br />2.
