6/11/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14253 <br />N <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE 2000 -2001 ASPHALT <br />RUBBER CHIP SEAL PROJECT; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING <br />RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14199, adopted April 23, 2001, <br />the City Clerk advertised for bids for the 2000 -2001 Asphalt Rubber Chip Seal <br />Project, Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said advertisement, two bids were received for <br />the performance of said work and filed with the City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, Western States Surfacing, Inc. of Modesto, California is the <br />lowest responsible bidder, and it is the intention and desire of this Council to <br />award said bid to Western States Surfacing, Inc.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The bid of Western States Surfacing, Inc. in the amount of Four <br />Hundred Forty -three Thousand Two Hundred Fifty and No /100 Dollars <br />($443,250.00), computed in accordance with bidder's proposal dated May 15, <br />2001 for the 2000 -2001 Asphalt Rubber Chip Seal Project, is hereby accepted <br />and said bidder is hereby found and declared to be the lowest responsible bidder <br />for said work. <br />Reso -460 1 <br />DES:djk <br />Shared /R edwood /Council <br />o51'2s/o1 <br />
