6/11/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14254 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE FRIENDLY ACRES <br />AREA STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT — PHASE II; <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR SAID <br />WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.14195, adopted April 23, 2001, the <br />City Clerk advertised for bids for the Friendly Acres Area Storm Drain <br />Improvements Project — Phase II in the City of Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said advertisement, three bids were received for <br />the performance of said work and filed with the City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, McGuire & Hester of Oakland, California was the lowest <br />responsible bidder, and it is the intention and desire of this Council to award said <br />bid to McGuire & Hester; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The bid of McGuire & Hester in the amount of One Million One <br />Hundred Thirty -nine Thousand Five Hundred Ten and No /100 Dollars <br />($1,139,510.00), computed in accordance with bidder's proposal dated May 23, <br />2001 for the Friendly Acres Area Storm Drain Improvements Project — Phase II, <br />is hereby accepted and said bidder is hereby found and declared to be the <br />lowest responsible bidder for said work. <br />Reso -1164 1 <br />DES:djk <br />Shared /Redwood /Council <br />05/29/01 <br />
