O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 143,69 <br />08/27/01 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH TEEN PREGNANCY COALITION OF SMCO <br />WHEREAS, Teen Pregnancy Coalition of SMCo is a private, non - profit <br />organization that provides educational programs for youth in the community on <br />pregnancy prevention and for parents on character education - helping parents /adults <br />talk with youth non - judgmentally about assuming adult responsibility, which services are <br />in furtherance of the public health, welfare and benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, Teen Pregnancy Coalition of SMCo has requested financial <br />assistance for use by it in conducting its activities during the fiscal year commencing <br />July 1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />enter into an agreement with Teen Pregnancy Coalition of SMCo to provide financial <br />assistance in furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and Teen <br />Pregnancy Coalition of SMCo, a copy of which agreement is on file in the office of the <br />City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is <br />hereby approved and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />Reso -0125 <br />F: /Shared /Redwood /Council <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
