1 - 10/8/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1 4"297 <br />ENDORSING PASSAGE OF MEASURE C A $207 MILLION <br />GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FOR SAN MATEO COUNTY <br />COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City recognizes the <br />need to continue to provide higher education opportunities for all of its residents <br />and future residents; and <br />WHEREAS, financing for community colleges from the State of California <br />have not been adequate for repair and renewal of educational facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Community College District is seeking <br />$207 million in bonds to construct improvements on their campuses, including <br />Canada College, which will result in a more safe, accessible and updated <br />learning environment; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby endorses and supports the <br />passage of Measure C, and encourages residents of Redwood City to approve <br />this measure on November 6, 2001. <br />F:Atty2001Shared /Redwood /CounciUReso /Reso -1250 1 <br />
