11/26/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14404 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE <br />OF FURNITURE FOR REDWOOD CITY CITY HALL. <br />WHEREAS, The City of Redwood City requires specialized furniture which <br />conforms to the Americans with Disabilities Act and meets other specialized <br />requirements (the "Furniture ") for installation and use at the Redwood City City Hall <br />located at 1017 Middlefield Road; and <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City Code Section 2.76 of Article II of the Redwood City <br />Code relating to the purchase of materials, equipment and supplies may be suspended <br />where the Council finds that the only materials, equipment or supplies that are suitable <br />are of a unique nature and available from a single source only. <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.76 of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City, this Council hereby finds: <br />(a) strict compliance with Article II of the Redwood City Code would not <br />serve the public interest. <br />(b) the furniture which is suitable is of a unique nature and available from a <br />single source only. <br />(c) the Furniture proposed to be purchased substantially conforms to the <br />specifications established therefor by the City. <br />F:Atty2001 Shared /Redwood /Council /Reso /Reso 1264 <br />111501 <br />
