07/01/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14451 <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF <br />EQUIPMENT TO REDWOOD CITY EDUCATION FOUNDATION <br />WHEREAS, during the past year, several City departments have upgraded their <br />computer equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, these upgrades have resulted in twenty -three (23) computers being <br />sent to surplus; and <br />WHEREAS, this surplus computer equipment has no resale value; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the City Council's priorities is Youth and Education; and <br />WHEREAS, although this surplus equipment is no longer useful to the City, it is <br />still functional and could be of particular use to disadvantaged families and /or youth in <br />the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City Educational Foundation has agreed to receive the <br />surplus property and distribute it where most needed in the community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the computer equipment described herein is deemed surplus <br />property. <br />2. That the transfer of the computer equipment to the Redwood City <br />Educational Foundation will be of benefit to the community of Redwood City. <br />3.
