07/15/02 <br />kE §0i&I6I4NO L 44se <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the State of California's 1984 Urban Water Management <br />Planning Act ( "The Act ") requires every urban water supplier providing water for <br />municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers, or supplying more than 3,000 <br />acre feet of water annually, to prepare and adopt an Urban Water Management <br />Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City owns and operates a water utility that serves <br />over 83,000 customers, supplying 13,278 acre feet of water annually; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City prepared its Urban Water <br />Management Plan in 1986 and said plan has been amended in 1992 and <br />January 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to amend its Urban Water <br />Management Plan to meet the requirements of the California Urban Water <br />Management Planning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, said amendment must be adopted after public review and <br />hearing and filed with the California Department of Water Resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has been presented with an amendment <br />which conforms water use projections to the recently completed Redwood City <br />Water Use Forecast, and said Forecast was accepted by the City Council on or <br />about July 1, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, said amendment also conforms to the Urban Water <br />Management Plan to the City of Redwood City's draft General Plan Housing <br />Element update, pending draft Downtown Plan Environmental Impact Report and <br />proposed developments west of Highway 101; and <br />WHEREAS, public review and hearing of the amendment to the Urban <br />Water Management Plan occurred on July 15, 2002. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That certain Amended Urban Water Management Plan, a copy of which is <br />on file in the offices of the Public Works Services Department to which <br />copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is hereby <br />approved and adopted. <br />F:Atty /Reso /Reso.1316 1 <br />070202 <br />
