12/09/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14483 <br />RETIREMENT ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM TO ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES <br />WHEREAS, it is determined to be in the best interest of the City of <br />Redwood City to provide a Retirement Enhancement Program to eligible <br />employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is eligible to be a member of the <br />Public Agency Retirement System (PARS) Trust, which has made available a <br />Retirement Enhancement Plan supplementing CalPERS and qualifying under the <br />relevant sections of the Internal Revenue Code and the California Government <br />Code; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: <br />1. The City Council hereby adopts the PARS Trust, including the PARS <br />Retirement Enhancement Plan, as part of the City Retirement Program, <br />effective January 28, 2003; and <br />2. The City Council hereby appoints the Human Resources Director, of <br />his /her successor or his /her designee as the City's Plan Administrator for <br />the Public Agency Retirement System; and <br />3. The City of Redwood City's PARS Administrator is hereby authorized to <br />execute the PARS legal and administrative service documents on behalf <br />of the City of Redwood City to implement a PARS supplemental plan to <br />CalPERS. <br />F:Atty/Reso /Reno <br />
