07/28/2003 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14540 <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 14102, GUIDELINES <br />FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF GRANT FUNDS FOR CARRINGTON <br />HALL RENOVATION <br />WHEREAS, on December 11, 2000, the City Council of Redwood City adopted <br />Resolution No. 14102 which authorized the allocation of Capitol Improvement Funds <br />(hereinafter "Funds') in the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000) to <br />the Carrington Hall Auditorium Rescue Operation (hereinafter "CHARD "), for the <br />renovation of the Carrington Hall Auditorium located at Sequoia High School; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has previously approved grant guidelines for CHARD, <br />which among other matters obligates the City of Redwood City (hereinafter "City ") to <br />provide said Funds if, by June 30, 2003, CHARO has received a matching sum of Two <br />Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000) and obligates CHARO to begin "additional <br />renovation" as described in the grant guidelines of Carrington Hall by January, 2004; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, to date, CHARO has received Two Hundred Four Thousand Two <br />`— Hundred Eighty -Four Dollars ($204,284); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is being requested to amend said guidelines to <br />extend to June 30, 2004, the time for CHARO to obtain the remainder of the required <br />matching sum and to extend to January 1, 2005, the time by which renovation is to <br />begin; and <br />WHEREAS, in order for both extensions of time to be effective, the City Council <br />must amend Resolution No. 14102 to so provide. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The time in which CHAfkO must obtain the matching sum of Two Hundred <br />Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000) is hereby extended to June 30, 2004; and <br />2. The time in which "additional renovation" must begin on Carrington Hall is <br />hereby extended to January 1, 2005; and <br />3. That certain document entitled "Carrington Hall — City of Redwood City Grant <br />Guidelines — Amended July 28, 2003," a copy of which is on file in the office <br />of the City Clerk, which includes said extensions of time are hereby approved. <br />F:Atty /Reso /Reso.1401 14540 <br />062403 1 <br />
