07/28/2003 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14543 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />ACTING AS THE LEGISLATIVE BODY OF REDWOOD SHORES <br />COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. 99 -1 (SHORES <br />TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT) OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, STATING ITS INTENTION TO ISSUE BONDS AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF ITS SPECIAL TAX BONDS, <br />SERIES 2003B, IN AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED $8,490,000 AND APPROVING CERTAIN DOCUMENTS AND <br />TAKING CERTAIN OTHER ACTIONS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br />WHEREAS, on March 22, 1999, the Council of the City of Redwood City (the <br />"Council") adopted its Resolution No. 13590 stating its intention to form Redwood <br />Shores Community Facilities District No. 99 -1 (Shores Transportation Improvement <br />Project) of the City of Redwood City (the "District') pursuant to the Mello -Roos <br />Community Facilities Act of 1982, as amended (constituting Section 53311 et seq. of <br />the Government Code) (the "Act "), for the purpose of financing certain facilities and <br />incidental expenses described in Resolution No. 13590; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 26, 1999, following a noticed hearing, the Council adopted <br />Resolution Nos. 13610 and 13611 which established the District, authorized the levy of <br />a special tax in accordance with the Rate and Method of Apportionment attached to <br />Resolution No. 1311, and called an election within the District for July 30, 1999 on the <br />proposition of levying a special tax, authorizing the issuance of bonds in a principal <br />amount not to exceed $13,535,000, and establishing an appropriations limit (the <br />"Proposition "); and <br />WHEREAS, on August 9, 1999, the Council, acting as the legislative body of the <br />District, adopted Resolution No. 13693 certifying the results of the July 30, 1999 <br />F:ATTY/RESO /RES0.1407 14543 <br />071403 1 <br />
