06/27/2005 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14654 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR CERTAIN <br />SERVICES RELATING TO CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL AND GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 8, 2005 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City and Ordinance No. 2078, adopted April 11, 1994, the General Municipal <br />Election of the City of Redwood City shall be held in said City on the first Tuesday after <br />the first Monday in November of each odd - numbered year; and <br />WHEREAS, the General Municipal Election of the City of Redwood City shall be <br />held on November 8, 2005, and shall be consolidated with Special Municipal Election <br />to be held on said date; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo provides certain services pertaining to the <br />conduct of elections as set forth more fully in the Agreement hereinafter referenced. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain Agreement by and between the City of Redwood City, a charter city <br />and municipal corporation of the State of California, and the County of San <br />Mateo, entitled "Service Agreement for the Provision of Election Services <br />between the City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County Assessor- County- <br />Recorder" for the performance by the County Clerk of the County of San Mateo <br />of certain services pertaining to the Consolidated General and Special Municipal <br />Elections to be held on November 8, 2005, a copy of which Agreement shall be <br />on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which reference is hereby made for the <br />full particulars thereof, is hereby approved, subject to negotiation and approval <br />by the City Manager and approval as to form by the City Attorney's office, and <br />the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute, <br />and to attest thereto, respectively, said Agreement for and on behalf of the City <br />of Redwood City. <br />2.
