7/25/2005 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14660 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING <br />SPECIFIC AMENDMENTS TO THE JOINT POWERS <br />AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE SAN MATEO PRE - <br />HOSPITAL EMERGENCY SERVICES PROVIDERS GROUP <br />(JPA) <br />WHEREAS, the JPA consists of seventeen (17) San Mateo County <br />municipalities and fire districts for the purpose of providing pre - hospital advanced <br />life support services throughout the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the JPA has been successfully providing such services for <br />the past six years and has received national recognition for maintaining a strong <br />cooperative relationship between public and private sector agencies; and <br />WHEREAS, the JPA operates pursuant to a written Agreement, which has <br />been approved by the governing bodies of the 17 member agencies and this <br />Agreement currently authorizes the provision of pre - hospital advanced life <br />support medical services; and <br />WHEREAS, there are potential economic and service benefits for our JPA <br />member agencies if the JPA's mission was broadened to allow for the <br />management or oversight of related non - medical fire function; and <br />WHEREAS, the JPA Board of Directors has approved certain <br />amendments to the current JPA Agreement, which would permit the JPA to <br />provide administrative support for specific projects that have been reviewed and <br />approved by the Board of Directors; and <br />WHEREAS, the JPA Board is now requesting approval of these <br />amendments by the governing bodies or our 17 member agencies. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City <br />of Redwood City hereby approves the following two amendments to the JPA <br />Agreement: <br />II. Purpose of the Agreement. <br />The purpose of this Agreement is... <br />1.
