<br />08/11/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14885 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE ACQUISITION OF <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 926 4TH AVENUE FOR <br />TRANSITIONAL HOUSING (SERVICE LEAGUE OF SAN MATEO <br />COUNTY) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br /> <br />Development Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Section 24 of <br /> <br />the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 92 for the HOME Investment Partnership <br /> <br />Program (HOME), funding assistance may be used to fund eligible activities to <br /> <br />be carried out by private non-profit entities or public agencies which are duly <br /> <br />organized to undertake affordable permanent and transitional housing <br /> <br />development services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan and Housing Element goals of the City <br /> <br />of Redwood City ("City") include expanding the supply of affordable housing for <br /> <br />Redwood City households who are low income and special needs populations; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Service League of San Mateo County has applied for funding <br /> <br />assistance under the CDBG and HOME program to acquire land privately owned <br />in the City of Redwood City and located at 926 4th Avenue, in the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City (the "Property"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Service League of San Mateo County has entered into a <br /> <br />contract to purchase the Property; and <br /> <br />A TTY/RESO/RESO.1845 <br />081208 <br /> <br />14885 <br />Muff # 404 <br />
