SWC:djg-c 10/21/81 ORIGINAL ---------- RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 8989 OCT 26 1981 RESOLUTION DECLARING WEEDS TO BE A NUISANCE; AND SETTING PUBLIC HEARING FOR DECEMBER 7, 1981 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That this Council, upon evidence presented by the City Manager, has determined that weeds, rubbish, dirt and rank growths, of Redwood City, do exist upon private property within those certain areas of the City of Redwood City delineated upon "Exhibit A," attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, and in and upon the sidewalks, parkways, streets, avenues, roadways, boulevards, highways and alleys likewise delineated and situate within the City of Redwood city. 2. That this Council does hereby (a) declare such weeds, rubbish, dirt and rank growths to be a public nuisance, (b) direct that every property owner, lessee or occupant of buildings, grounds or lots within aforesaid areas of the City of Redwood City shall destroy or remove the same, and (c) declare that unless said nuisance be abated without delay by the destruction or removal of such weeds, rubbish, dirt and rank growths, the Council of the City of Redwood City shall cause said nuisance to be abated and shall cause the expense of such abatement to be assessed upon the lots and lands from which, and/or in front or rear of which, such weeds shall have been destroyed or removed, in accordance with and in the manner provided by Article IV (commencing at ~14.38) of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood city. 3. That the City Manager of the city of Redwood City is hereby directed to give notice of the passage of this resolution as provide for and in accordance with the form of notice set forth in the above mentioned Article IV. 8 ~ti 9
