<br />SWC:mf 12/8/81 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9026 <br /> <br />OI7:r.H\IAI <br />'.1UJ::\~ _ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING POLICY OF PARTICIPATION <br />IN JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS FOR PURPOSE OF <br />NEGOTIATING THE PURCHASE OF A SHARED AUTOMATED <br />CIRCULATION SYSTEM FOR CERTAIN LIBRARIES WITHIN <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> <br />DEe 2 1 1981 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo, with encouragement of <br /> <br />various cities within the County, has solicited proposals for <br /> <br />an automated circulation system for libraries within San Mateo <br /> <br />County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, several cities in the County of San Mateo have <br /> <br />agreed in principle to exercise jointly their respective power <br /> <br />to purchase, operate and maintain such automated circulation <br /> <br />system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, negotiations for the aforesaid shared automated <br /> <br />circulation system must commence by the end of December, 1981; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a draft agreement satisfactory to all parties <br /> <br />cannot be completed prior to the commencement of such negotiations; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to evidence its support for <br /> <br />this City's participation in said negotiations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby approve in principle exercising <br /> <br />jointly with the County of San Mateo and other participating <br /> <br />cities in said County the exercise of power pursuant to Government <br /> <br />Code Sections 6000 et seq. for the purchase, operation and <br /> <br />maintenance of a shared circulation system for participating <br /> <br />libraries in the County. <br /> <br />2. This Council does hereby approve of the commencement <br /> <br />9026 <br />
