<br />SWC:djg-c 12/15/81 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9 027 <br /> <br />DEe 2 1 1981 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF A SURCHARGE TO <br />BE ADDED TO BAILS FOR PAP~ING VIOLATIONS IMPOSED <br />PURSUANT TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br />THE VEHICLE CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to assist in the establishment of adequate criminal <br /> <br />justice facilities, Chapter 1171 of the Statutes of 1981 (the <br /> <br />"Act") provides for the creation of a Criminal Justice Facility <br /> <br />Temporary Construction Fund and the imposition of certain sur- <br /> <br />charges upon, among others, bails for parking violations, to be <br /> <br />deposited into such fundi and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act, the Board of Supervisors of the <br /> <br />County of San Mateo did, on December I, 1981, adopt Resolution <br /> <br />No. 42857, thereby implementing the provisions of the Act within <br /> <br />the County of San Mateo, and establishing a fee of One Dollar and <br /> <br />Fifty cents ($1.50), payable to the Fund, for each parking violation <br /> <br />imposed pursuant to state and local legislation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. There is hereby imposed a surcharge in the amount of <br /> <br />One Dollar and Fifty cents ($1.50) which amount shall be added to <br /> <br />the bail amounts imposed for parking violations pursuant to the <br /> <br />Uniform Fire Code, adopted pursuant to Section 12.7 of the Code of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City; Chapter 20 of the Code of the City Gf <br /> <br />Redwood CitYi and the Vehicle Code of the State of California. <br /> <br />2. This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption; <br /> <br />provided, however, that the surcharge established pursuant to <br /> <br />paragraph 1 hereof shall be imposed upon those violations incurred <br /> <br />on or after January 1, 1982. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />9 02? <br />
