<br />swr 'jg-c <br />SWc...Jjg-c <br /> <br />11/17/82 <br />11/19/82R <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9272 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />NOV 2 2 1982 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DRINKING DRIVER HOLIDAY <br />APPREHENSION PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approximately 55,000 lives are lost each <br /> <br />year on our nation's highways in traffic collisions which <br /> <br />involve drinking drivers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city of Redwood city abhors this senseless <br /> <br />loss of life and has committed itself to the prevention of <br /> <br />alcohol related collisions by participating in a vigorous <br /> <br />program designed to apprehend and educate drinking drivers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to support the Police Depart- <br /> <br />ments of Atherton, Belmont, Menlo Park, San Carlos, and Redwood <br /> <br />City as well as the California Highway Patrol, San Mateo County <br /> <br />District Attorney's Office and the San Mateo County Probation <br /> <br />Department in their continuing efforts to reduce injury accidents <br /> <br />during the Christmas holiday period through the apprehension <br /> <br />of the drinking driver; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby applaud and support the drinking <br /> <br />driver holiday apprehension program, and does further direct <br /> <br />the city Manager and Police Chief to inform the citizens of <br /> <br />Redwood City of its support of said program. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />92/'12 <br />
