<br />SWC:RFH:eg <br /> <br />5/9/83 <br /> <br />9 3~".."" <br />(j I. <br /> <br />COpy <br />MAY 23 1983 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N 0 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING CAPTAIN <br />ROBERT HERMAN GSELL ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Captain Robert Herman Gsell, having well and ably served <br /> <br />the city of Redwood City for thirty-one years, is retiring on <br /> <br />May 31, 1983; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob began his career with the Redwood City Police Depart- <br /> <br />ment in 1951 as a Patrolman and was thereafter promoted to Sergeant, <br /> <br />Lieutenant, and culminated said promotions at his present position of <br /> <br />Captain, in which position he has served with distinction and <br /> <br />honor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, his professional background was climaxed with his <br /> <br />graduation from the FBI National Academy, which testifies to his <br /> <br />devotion to the highest standards of professional competence; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during his long tenure Bob has worked for five police <br /> <br />chiefs and his expertise and vast knowledge has contributed signifi- <br /> <br />cantly to the development of the police department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob will be missed by friends, co-workers and the law <br /> <br />enforcement community; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby commend Robert Herman Gsell, does hereby <br /> <br />congratulate him on the occasion of his retirement, and does extend <br /> <br />to him its best wishes for many happy rewarding years following his <br /> <br />retirement. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />r'~' <br />., <br />
