<br />DAS:sh 5/5/86 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 1 0202 <br /> <br />MAY <br /> <br />r:- 1(\()'~ <br />cJ ,:;00 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC <br />INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE <br />OF PUBLIC MONEY TO SAFEGUARD LIFE, HEALTH AND PROPERTY, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE PERFORMANCE OF PUBLIC WORK WITHOUT <br />AUTHORIZING, SOLICITING OR ADVERTISING FOR BIDS <br />THEREFOR IN CONNECTION WITH A SEWER BYPASS LINE BETWEEN <br />WINDSOR WAY AND ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on or about April 23, 1986, a ten inch sanitary <br /> <br />sewer main lying in an easement between Windsor Way and the 1200 <br /> <br />block of Alameda de las Pulgas in the City of Redwood City was <br /> <br />blocked; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a result of said blockage, it was necessary to <br /> <br />perform emergency work in order to assure necessary sewage <br /> <br />service for the residents of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a further result of said blockage, it has been <br /> <br />and will be, necessary to expend the public monies to provide <br /> <br />necessary sewage service, and to repair, replace, bypass and <br /> <br />maintain said ten inch sanitary sewer main, and appurtenances <br /> <br />thereto; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the occurrence above-described was of such a nature <br /> <br />that there has been, and will be, insufficient time available to <br /> <br />continue to provide said sewer service and carry out the <br /> <br />necessary repairs, replacement, bypass work and maintenance in <br /> <br />accordance with solicitation or advertising requirements for bids <br /> <br />for the performance of said work; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1.
