<br />SWC:~jk 5/19/88 (#21) <br />_ A <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />1 0 797 <br /> <br />MAY 2 3 1988 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO ISSUE PERMIT <br />TO BOARDWALK MOTOR CAR GROUP AND RAINOS HOME AND <br />TRAINING CENTER FOR BOARDWALK BAYLANDS 10K RACE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and 21101, <br /> <br />respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on streets <br /> <br />under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a portion of <br /> <br />any street for celebrations, parades, local special events and <br /> <br />other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety and <br /> <br />protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street <br /> <br />during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Boardwalk Motor Car Group ("Boardwalk") and Kainos <br /> <br />Home and Training Center ("Kainos") have requested that this <br /> <br />Council permit them to conduct the Broadwalk Baylands 10K Race in <br /> <br />and along certain hereinafter described City rights-of-way on <br /> <br />June 12, 1988, and it is the intent and desire of this Council to <br /> <br />permit Boardwalk and Kainos to conduct said race, and to close <br /> <br />rights-of-way, as hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. This Council does hereby grant to the Boardwalk and <br /> <br />Kainos the right to conduct the Boardwalk Baylands 10K Race in <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City on June 12, 1988, and does hereby <br /> <br />authorize and direct the Chief of Police to issue a permit to <br /> <br />Boardwalk and Kainos for said purpose. <br /> <br />1 0 797 <br />
