<br />DES:r'ljk 07/19/88 <br /> <br />(#21) <br />JUL 2 5 1988 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10828 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING WATER CONSERVATION <br />POLICY AND GUIDELINES FOR NEW DEVELOPMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1968 adopted May 23, 1988 <br /> <br />by this Council, a water shortage emergency has been declared, <br /> <br />and regulations and restrictions on the delivery and consumption <br /> <br />of water, and penalties for violations thereof, have been <br /> <br />established in light of the generally prevailing condition of <br /> <br />drought which has seriously reduced the supply of water available <br /> <br />from the Hetch-Hetchy water system to the City and County of San <br /> <br />Francisco and, in turn, to this City pursuant to contract with <br /> <br />said City and County of San Francisco; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the water rationing program approved by the City <br /> <br />and County of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission which <br /> <br />affects the aforesaid contractual supply of water to this City, <br /> <br />includes a requirement that the quantity of water allowed for new <br /> <br />construction shall be conditioned upon the implementation, <br /> <br />locally, of requirements for low water use landscaping and <br /> <br />irrigation systems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Water Conservation Policy and Guidelines for New <br /> <br />Development in the form of Exhibit "A", attached hereto, and by <br /> <br />this reference incorporated herein, have been prepared in <br /> <br />cooperation with the City and County of San Francisco and other <br /> <br />water users dependant upon the Hetch-Hetchy water system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to approve and adopt said <br /> <br />Policy and Guidelines for land development in the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City; <br /> <br />10828 <br />
