<br />SWC:n4k 07/19/88 (#21) <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />JUL 2 5 1988 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />No.10832 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO ISSUE PERMIT <br />FOR THE REDWOOD SHORES BIATHLON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and 21101, <br /> <br />respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on streets <br /> <br />under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a portion of <br /> <br />any street for celebrations, parades, local special events and <br /> <br />other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety and <br /> <br />protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street <br /> <br />during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Incorporated has requested <br /> <br />that this Council permit them to conduct the Redwood Shores <br /> <br />Biathlon in and along certain hereinafter described City <br /> <br />rights-of-way on August 21, 1988, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and <br /> <br />ending at 12:00 noon, and it is the intent and desire of this <br /> <br />Council to permit Big Brothers/Big Sisters Incorporated to <br /> <br />conduct said Biathlon, and to close rights-of-way, as hereinafter <br /> <br />set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby grant to the Big Brothers/Big <br /> <br />Sisters Incorporated the right to conduct the Redwood Shores <br /> <br />Biathlon in the City of Redwood City on August 2l, 1988, and does <br /> <br />hereby authorize and direct the Chief of Police to issue a permit <br /> <br />to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Incorporated for said purpose. <br /> <br />1 0 832 <br />
